SO. I have had this rig for quite a while, and from the get-go (even back in the day when I was still running an E8400) I've gotten this weird high pitched whine whilst scrolling, moving windows, loading pages, etc. From What I can tell It only seems to happen when im on USB sound. Happens on a BOSS GT-10 wired for a speaker/recording setup. Happens in these little color water jet speakers. Happens when I use my turtle beaches on USB. (Three different types of patch cables.) I'v tried all the ports, yes, and all remains the same. Furthermore, it does NOT happen when I plug them in through my azio mech 5's usb ports. Which begs the question... bad ground in the mobo, or what??

Be certain your computer isn't too close to the attractive side of magnets. Seeing as powerful speakers NEED strong magnets to drive them, it would make a whole lot of sense that the interference is coming from them. Actually, my brother had this same issue a day ago and after moving his case behind the woofer, rather than in front of it, the noise stopped!

Hope this helps at all, I'll stick around for replies. :)

Unfortunately this is not the issue. My sound systems have always been 5-10 feet away from the source.
