[Help] BIOS Update for Asus M5A97 LE R2.0

Hello!

I am currently building my first computer and using PCPartPicker to find some parts for my computer and this message below appeared today.

PCPartPicker said:

'Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs.'

CPU: AMD FX6300
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0

My questions:
1. Do I need to update the BIOS?
2. If yes, how do I update the BIOS? :|

that motherboard doesn't have heatsinks for cooling the VRM so an 8350 may cause it to overheat. I wouldn't try overclocking on that board. I would suggest the non-LE version of that board.

I wasn't planning on OC that 8350 anyways.4.0GHz is more than enough.

EDIT: I think this has heatsink over VRM http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX41314

FX-8350 will work the same as an FX 6300. It will run fine. But you will not be able to overclock it with this motherboard.

Yes that one has a heatsink over the VRM. It's definitely a better choice over the one you have.
