Is 4gb of ram good enough to game on windows 8?

I am looking into getting the Lenovo ideapad flex 14" touchscreen laptop and it has 4gb of ram! It has windows 8. I am wondering if I would be able to play games on this like minecraft to a high standard (render distance far or possibly medium with NO LAG what so ever)! I would think of getting 8gb of ram if I really would need it but only if I really did! If you suggest the 8gb of ram, where would you suggest buying it for a good price? I'm only asking because I heard windows 8 takes up a lot of ram!

4GB is plenty of RAM for minecraft-- by default Java calls for 1GB of RAM when playing minecraft.

One thing people don't expect is the weight of a hard drive on minecraft performance, you'll need a good hard drive... which I'm confident is present in the laptop.

You're gonna run that game no problem.
