Ok so I plan to move away from my crap laptop and to try to build a gaming rig. So my components so far are:
cpu-intel 4770k
250

gpu-gtx 770 windforce 4gb
300

ram- corsair vengeance pro 2x8
132

case-zalman ms800 plus
67

motherboard-asus z87-k
95

psu-coolmaster 700
78

hdd-Seagate Hybrid Drive ST2000DX001 2TB MLC/8GB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s NCQ 3.5" Desktop SSHD
85

monitor-asus vg248qe
261

So I was wondering whether this rig would let me play high end games on high graphic setting. I'm tired of playing games on low.

Also I don't plan to overclock as I'm just a beginner to pc building and I don't want to ruin anything. Is it worthwhile getting the 4770k? Or the 4770? I heard that the standard 4770k provides more power than the 4770? Please can you confirm this too.

Finally, ;), if this build has flaws in it such as a terrible motherboard, etc then please recommend another option. Preferably cheaper

Sorry for the long post but this has been bugging me :p

That's a decent budget there lol, I'll try to get back to you in the morning. You could probably work off of my build by upgrading RAM, GFX, changing the CPU and mobo around a bit.
Also don't forget about your OS and all the small things as they add up to
I'll get my build for you in a sec

Yeah my laptop is pretty much dead and I'm trying to persuade my parents to let me get a new pc. My brother got an Alienware m17x so my budget of around 1200 will hopefully be ok lol.

Also just looking now I've seen that the gtx 780 2gb is better than the 770 4gb somehow so I'll go for the 780.

You can obviously downgrade quite a bit to get to the £1200 price point mentioned, if you already have a keyboard and mouse or are happy on cheap ones that's £110 off straight away and you can downgrade the case by £40 to a corsair carbide 200r and there you are
I can compile a list of links tomorrow to the cheapest of each of these and it will drop the price a little
This is just my opinion though and I am a bit of a newb aswell but I understand most of it
