I have seen gaming setup after gaming setup with a very nice PC but a monitor that just simply won't make the PC worth it. With your build I recommend only one monitor that I think will be excellent. This monitor is certified by MLG and is what the true gamers use in competitions. Search any reputable technology site for BenQ monitors. They have a range of monitors in sizes and resolution. With a 300$ budget you might be able to get multiple monitors from the same company. Just ask if you neeed links.

What size do you need? What resolution would you like? Multiple or single monitor setup? They are pretty common. definitely available at best buy most likely in store although best buy prices aren't ideal.

The size ideally would be about 24" since my desk is pretty small, also limiting me to a single monitor setup, but I would like to be able to eventually upgrade to additional monitors as my financial situation (and desk) improves.
As far as the resolution goes, I don't want anything less than 1920x1080p, but at the same time I don't see how I could improve that by any affordable means.

Thanks you so much for the link! Now, if I were to eventually really upgrade (like a resolution upgrade), what would you suggest? For example, is BenQ still good at the different resolutions?

Well above that resolution you have to start considering 4K resolution which is pricey but extremely nice quality. In the end, 1920x1080 will be fine for gaming and you would suit you really well in most games as there aren't many current gen games optimized for a 4K resolution. You could also consider 3D but I've never been a fan of that. I know Asus has a good 4K monitor on Newegg.
