I'm new to building, and having trouble finding answers to basic and specific questions such as this. Can you tell me if the power of a GTX760 will be wasted on an i5 3570K, even if I overclock it? Thank you!

not at all. Not even an underclocked i5 3570k could bottleneck it.

Not even slightly, 3570K is about as fast as it gets for gaming, if that were to bottleneck everyone would be screwed. i7's don't improve FPS outside of select titles, and Haswell only has a 10% edge.

Still, overclock it though, just because its free and takes no effort what so ever unless you want to go over 42x multiplier.

Some YouTube guy named Austin Evans did a comparo of your i5 against an i3-4130 and for most cards there was maybe a 10% difference
