Ok here's a simple question. Did you buy the games either at a store or online like steam?

Ok so take the disk that you got from the store and just reinstall it on your windows 7 laptop. People that use Steam will sometimes install to a external harddrive so they can use it on another machine. Most likely if you just copied everything in the folder you would end up missing a few files that were installed somewhere else. Better just to use the disks that came in the box and install it on your laptop.

Correct.
In fact, it's not even possible to MOVE games like this as they are installed in such a way as the REGISTRY is modified. There are a few games that can run out of a folder directly but they're pretty rare.

In some cases you may need to REMOVE the game from the old PC due to multiple copy licensing issues but I don't know those details and it may vary between games/company.

So:
1. Uninstall game from old computer if necessary
2. Insert DVD and install to new PC (have serial ready)
3. Apply updates (automatic via program, or manually via a downloaded file. Must investigate each game to see.)

*If you have games installed via Steam, Origin, or some other similar program you would install it first, then LOGIN with your username/password to let it download the games for you.
