Before I begin, my relevant system components:

  • ASUS Maximus VI Gene
  • Intel Core i5 4670K
  • Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 GE [x2]
  • G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 1866 8GB (2 x 4GB) (F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL)
  • XFX PRO 750W Black Edition (P1750BBEFX)

  • I am currently experiencing some very odd problems with my current Crossfire setup.

When Crossfire is disabled in CCC, no problems occur.

However, when Crossfire is enabled, the following problems arise:

    • Random graphical glitches (especially present in Mozilla Firefox)
    • Broken fan and GPU temp readings on the second GPU
    • Inconsistent Crossfire recognition - shows as enabled in GPU-Z and Afterburner, but not in Speccy or Kombustor (I have no idea whether or not Crossfire is actually active as a result)

GPU bridge reseating and replacement, GPU reseating and position swaps, and a BIOS update have done nothing to solve the problem.

What is the cause of this? I suspect it to be some kind of problem with the motherboard or PSU, but I have no concrete leads.

If you have any questions or requests for additional information, I will be happy to oblige you.
