I just recently bought an AMD brand laptop and I need to know if there's anything I should consider before I buy an Intel Mother board, such as, Do I need to worry about my computer Brand? Does Size matter? Can I just buy any old Mother Board and Switch it in with my current laptop? Should I just forget about switching to Intel all together and just buy another AMD Processor?

Solution
Unlike desktop's you can't just switch motherboards unless it is made for that exact make/model. There is no way to just buy a motherboard and make it work. Even if they made the same model in a intel and AMD flavor there is no guarantee that the boards could be switch between them.
you do not upgrade laptop motherboards or CPUs. the only way this would be possible is if a laptop maker used multiple boards in the exact same case. for obvious reasons these would be very incremental upgrades.

it is feasible to REPAIR a laptop by replacing the board if it breaks. there is no point to trying to upgrade a CPU or motherboard though. if you want something different besides memory/HDD then you buy a new laptop.

Ouch. So I cannot put another motherboard in and be okay with it? I'll just have to buy another computer?
