Hi,

What is the difference of A55M, A75M, A85X and so on?

I'm planning to get an FM2 socket motherboard but I don't know how to pick one.
Also, which brand of MoBo is good for heavy usage? I heard that ECS is crap and some solders would melt after heavy usage. And I just found out that MSi is really good for gaming.

By the way, by heavy usage, I meant heavy gaming, like around 5-6+ hours/day and movies/browsing 10+ hours/day.

Kindly explain in layman's term if possible.

Thanks,

Adrian

the cards with M usually are microATX form factor i.e. are smaller .Hence , cheaper
let s compare .FM2A55M-VG3 and FM2A75 Pro4 of Asrock
1. micro ATX vs ATX , the first is smaller
2. 2 memory slots vs 4 memory slots
3. 1 pci-e x16 gen 2 slot vs 2 pci-e slots x16 gen 2
4 . sata 2 vs sata 3
5. usb 2.0 vs usb 3.0 support
and so on ...

some times the short mobos cause trouble - overlapping of some PC parts like CPU fan and the video card and other . But...

Hi whitecat,

Yes I already used the website.
I just want to know what's the difference.

With what you provided, "A75 chipset"
What's the difference between that and say, A55 chipset? It's still compatible with the Proc I'm planning to get.

That's why I'm a tad curious. Is it because A55 is old, A75 is new? And new is always better? Or future compatibility reasons?

Thanks

Hi whitecat,

I'm really new to this assembling PCs and stuff so I apologize.

I still don't get it.

I am planning to get the AMD APU A6-5400k and its socket is FM2.
But there is a lot to choose from. I don't know which ones I should pick.

Thanks,

Adrian

Hi whitecat,

I'm sorry but that still does not answer my question.
I already have a budget in mind and I'm opt to get the FM2 A55 chipset.

I just want to know the DIFFERENCE between A55M, A75M, A85X and so on.

Thank you for trying though(no pun intended).

some times the short mobos cause trouble - overlapping of some PC parts like CPU fan and the video card and other . But you are not going to install video card now , so a micro ATX should be fine .

it was easier for me just to say Get
A 10 6800K it is great and
Corsair Vengeance 2x2GB 1.5V 1600MHz and .....
but my purpose was to cut the price . it took me long .Sorry .
