I recently bought a GTX 650 ti 1gb from newegg, should I return it for a 2gb one? Before anyone says anything about getting a better card a 650 ti is the best my board can support, it won't even accept the boost version. Yes, I am also building a new PC soon, this is just temporary. Should I return the 1 gb to newegg and buy the 2? How do newegg returns work?

Solution
PCIe 3.0 is backwards compatible, as far as I know. Have you physically tried a 3.0 GPU?

And I agree with u_gonna_squeal, if you did try and had problems, it might be the PSU is not powerful enough.

Alright, thank you. A few people I spoke to said a 2 gig model makes the world of difference but I just wanted to double check. And my power supply is fine, 750w, my motherboard is the problem (Asus M2A-VM HDMI) and won't work with PCI 3.0 cards even if it fits in the slot. I will only be playing on one monitor in 1080p or less. I will contact Newegg about trading it in I suppose. An extra gig shouldn't hurt. (Also your username is my favorite username)
