Might be. Your temps are much higher than mine (I think it's around 22*C in here right now). I assume that much of an increase will shorten the life of the drive but I honestly have no idea how much.

for many years you have been running them 24/7? are they showing sign of weakness(random data corruption, etc..)

an alternative for me is to gete a NAS server like the wd my cloud but it has no fan either and more pricey

My 1TB WD I put in about a year ago but my 500GB Seagate has been plugged in for at least 3-4 years. So far I have had no issue reading/writing to it.

The room is air conditioned but there no specific cooling going to the drives. They're just sitting on top of my desk with an extension cord going to them.

ah ok my house is not air conditionned and temperature in my country can get up to 31 degrees in summer... will it be an issue?
