Hi guys, wondering if you could help me out with my first build. I've spent hours going in circles trying to pick parts without coming to any conclusions, so decided I was better off flinging it to the pros.

Approximate Purchase Date: Jan 2014
Budget Range: $900-$1000 AUD including shipping fees
System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, noob-level CAD, general use (word processing, internet etc.)
Parts Not Required:
Monitor – BENQ G222HDL 21.5”
Optical Drive
Keyboard
Mouse
Preferred Website(s) for Parts:
Don’t really know – only ever ordered from MSY before.
Note – would consider local (Brisbane) pickup to avoid shipping fees and waiting around for slow/may-not-arrive shipping, although I’d be getting public transport.

Country: Australia
Parts Preferences: Intel i5 CPU
Overclocking: No. I might consider it a few years down the track if my hardware was struggling to keep up with what I wanted to do.
SLI or Crossfire: Not unless required later on
Monitor Resolution: Single monitor 1920x1080. Might consider a 2nd monitor in the future
Additional Comments: Require speakers. Any additional standoffs or crews I might need, maybe a dust filter? Would a PSU tester be useful? This would be my first build, and I’ve never done any hardware changes to my previous store-bought system (aside from an unsuccessful fault-finding mission).

At your price point, you are better off with ditching the ability to overclock as a better graphics card will deliver better performance than an overclocked cpu (in gaming)

Its a great build will last you too, and also you can overclock. If you want to spend a little bit more you can change the FX-6300 to the FX-8320! Cheers.

You cannot overclock on a 760g chipset. An i5 is stronger than a 6300 as well so it is a much better option to go for the i5 build i suggested.
