Windows 8 is the problem then. Several games don't work in Windows 8. Update to 8.1 and if that doesn't work then wait for another update, or go back to Windows 7.

If you're getting this error, "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application." after launching Strider 2014, or in your case, Assassins Creed 4, go to this link, http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?xinpu... and download the xinput1_3.dll zip file and extract it in the Game's Main Directory Folder Where The Game Launcher Is Found!

Ex. C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Assassins Creed IV. The game launcher for some PC games might be located in the "bin" , "bin32" or "bin64" folder.

It worked for me! And now I'm able to play Watch Dogs and Strider 2014 on my Asus Republic of Gamers Laptop with Windows 8.1, 64bit. Yeah!!!
