You currently have the A4 which is a fairly weak dual core

The best CPU choices for your FM2 socket would be the Athlon X4 750k or 760k

Not sure why Shadowplay didn't have the Geforce GTX desktop option ticked though :S

The 760k would be a big improvement. The guy who said that isn't a bottleneck is an idiot. That A4 is... not good. A 760k is fairly new and runs well, comparable to a 4300 I believe.

What's your PSU? it should be fine if it already can handle a 660

Idk some old brand but it 600w and can handle a 660 so i think it will handle a new cpu. everyone telling me to to go intel but i just spent $300 on a new gfx card and case so yeh thanks for the cheap but good cpu

Yeah, a 600w is a 600w. Almost. A more expensive/newer PSU is just more efficient and or reliable, but an older 600w will work just like a new one.

Well yeah, a new non FM2 CPU would require a new mobo as well as a fresh reinstall of windows, quite a hassle

Hopefully your PSU has more than 24A on the +12v rail, the manufacturer recommendation (even if a little overstated) is 24A overall for a system with a 660

You'd only need to reinstall windows if you bought a new mobo, so you shouldn't need to reinstall windows in your situation

With a decent cooler you can overclock it as well, it's quite popular for budget systems

Depends on game frankly, some more CPU intensive games or games not well optimized for more than 2 cores such as Arma 3 won't run too well, but most games should be fine

Shouldn't. People you can trust on computers: Random people on the internet (well... this website), yourself
People you shouldn't: family, salesmen, friends (unless you know they know what they're talking about).

When you install it the thermal paste should take a couple days to "set". I would break it in over a couple days before you overclock.

Everyone has to have a weird uncle.
Most CPUs come with compound in a packet, but some come with it on the heatsink. I would buy a tube of Arctic Silver 5.

It's different for every card. Install it and run Prime95 for a couple hours and I can give you an estimate, but case ventilation, your cooler, thermal paste, ambient temperature, dust, are all factors. Won't know what you can do until you get numbers.

When running P95 keep a close eye on your CPU temp using coretemp

It's an artificial load that will rarely happen in the real world, so you can expect your load temperatures to be lower with your overclock

I don't think so, an overclock on your 660 using Afterburner might yield some results

Not really anything you can do. Turn down settings.
