HI, first post here so be gentle! Should also point out that I am no techy.

OK system is as follows:-
windows version: Windows 7 Service Pack 1, 6.1, build: 7601
windows dir: C:\Windows
Hardware: All Series, ASUS, ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC., Z87-PRO
CPU: GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz Intel586, level: 6
4 logical processors, active mask: 15
RAM: 8251117568 total

Memory is Corsair XMS3 2x4GB 1600.
( I also have an Asus GTX 660 OC graphics card that has been removed from the system at this time)

Bios was updated yesterday to 1007. Chipset drivers were also downloaded yesterday from Asus and installed, Along with everything else that seemed relevant, ie sata, LAN, ethernet drivers etc.

PSU is a Corsair RM750

C: is a Sandisk SSD 128GB
D: is a DVD RW drive
E: is a 1TB Seagate drive.

I think that about covers the system which is all brand new

I am getting random crashes, examples of which is:-

On Sun 05/01/2014 09:05:44 GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\010514-11559-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0x75BC0)
Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0xC0000005, 0xFFFFF800031B5527, 0xFFFFF88005EF0DC0, 0x0)
Error: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
file path: C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
company: Microsoft Corporation
description: NT Kernel & System

And:-

On Sun 05/01/2014 09:05:44 GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\memory.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: ntkrnlmp.exe (nt!KeBugCheckEx+0x0)
Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0xC0000005, 0xFFFFF800031B5527, 0xFFFFF88005EF0DC0, 0x0)
Error: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

And:-

On Sat 04/01/2014 22:20:46 GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\010414-11606-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: ntfs.sys (Ntfs+0xB4E34)
Bugcheck code: 0x50 (0xFFFFF80003E3AAF0, 0x8, 0xFFFFF80003E3AAF0, 0x2)
Error: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
file path: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\ntfs.sys
product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
company: Microsoft Corporation

Anyone got any idea's? I am thinking of removing the SSD, formatting the Seagate and installing Windows onto that to see if it makes a difference. I have run 3Dmark11 and this never finishes, crashing out of the program but not crashing the PC. The first Crash shown above @ 09.05 was while Firefox was running and I was looking for any known issues with the MoBo. No video's or music running, (in fact nothing other then Firefox was open).

Help! Ive got quite an expensive rig here thats of no use at all at present!

OK, I did the least drastic thing first, pulled one of the memory cards. This seems to have stopped the blue screens but I have had track IR crash on first start. Second start seems and it seems to be ok except for screen stutter. 3Dmark11 gets all the way through and reports so I re-installed the 660 and ran it again and again it finished.

I do have stutter though with the graphics. Its not there all the time and does not appear to have any pattern, just a momentary freeze and then moves on.

Is this some sort of bios issue? Or is it faulty memory? Or is it something else?

Alex, your a star. I think the issues are resolved. I havent put the other RAM module back into place so I am only running 4GB, should I bring it back up to 8 and see what happens?

Okedoke. Have done as instructed and fitted the second memory module.

Ran 3Dmark11 and was only into the second test before this:-

On Sun 05/01/2014 18:09:28 GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\010514-11450-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: win32k.sys (win32k+0x1C3830)
Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0xC0000005, 0xFFFFF96000283830, 0xFFFFF88008581EC0, 0x0)
Error: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
file path: C:\Windows\system32\win32k.sys
product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
company: Microsoft Corporation
description: Multi-User Win32 Driver

So on the grounds that once proves nothing I got back into windows and ran it again. It got further in this time to around the fourth test and I got this:-

On Sun 05/01/2014 18:15:45 GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\010514-11856-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0x75BC0)
Bugcheck code: 0xD1 (0xFFFFF80001EB7D4B, 0x0, 0x8, 0xFFFFF80001EB7D4B)
Error: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
file path: C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
company: Microsoft Corporation
description: NT Kernel & System

So how do I go about proving if its bad memory or a bad slot on the MoBo?

Pulled the memory and ran all the tests again, no issues.

MoBo instruction book says that if two DIMMs are fitted that they should be in the slots I have, (had), them in. I'm a little nervous about changing them over.
