So I have a 750gb HDD and 1tb external.
Want a samsung 120gb SSD on my laptop.
I will remove my DVD drive and put in a 120gb SSD for OS.

Don't really need that much more space other than for files.
You think a 120gb SSD and HDD combo would work out?
My SSD will be mostly for applications and the rest of my files will be on my 750gb HDD/external.

Games is the only problem I might have, but don't have many PC games to play.
Even then my pc runs games decently and is not a priority.
So does on SSD effect performance, don't care of game loading time, just FPS increases.

I could also just make shortcuts to my files on my SSD,so it won't bother me too much finding files.
I have $100 for an SSD.Is that my best bet for $100.
I will also buy the caddy to put my SSD in for $10-$20.

I have:
Lenovo P585
AMD A10-4600m APU
AMD 7660G Graphics
8gb RAM

Solution
When it comes to real world performance there isn't much difference between using sata 2 or sata 3.

I would take out the HDD and use the SSD there and put the HDD in the caddy, that way if for some reason you need to use the dvd drive you can still plug it into its original spot and not effect windows.

Also I've heard some cadys are slower than others.
Like that some are SATA 1,2, or 3,more or less not consistent.

So would it be in my best interest to just take out my HDD and put in my SSD.
Then my HDD in the 2nd drive/cady,so if I do get slowdowns, then my OS is not affected?
