when did this sound problem first occur? is this after re-installing windows or it just happened when you booted it up. Are you able to log in and do anything on your desktop before everything goes black? I can only suggest some things to do right now, re-install windows and any graphics drivers that you have, with the graphics card you can try using a different PCI-E 16x slot as well as mentioned re-install the drivers to the latest version.

First of all, Thanx to you. Earlier pc was running well then I noticed its going black after a few minutes and no sound was there. I thought it was a virus creating all trouble so I formatted my entire hard disk and installed fresh windows. But it didn't solve the problem. Still no sound and screen goes black. Before it goes black, it runs well. Then it becomes slow. Finally everything freezes and screen goes black while cpu is still running.

Is there any different sounds (Hardware related that doesn't normally happen) when this black screen appears? Are you able o do anything when the screen is black (volume buttons or even turn on/off numlock)? Are you able to restart your computer by pressing start-u-r? Or put it into hibernation by pressing start-u-h? Or is the desktop totally frozen?
