Hello everyone,

It's probably worth pointing out I'm going to be using this for primarily gaming, recording gameplay, and video editing. Ideally future proofing would be nice too.

I'm pretty happy with my the way my build looks so far I just need a bit of advice on the motherboard my first choice was the 970 EXTREME4 but after trawling around for a bit I found a lot of people have been having severe issues with it (BSOD, etc). As alternatives to that board I've looked at the 970 EXTREME3 and the Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0.

I'm open to suggestions about my build in general however my main concern is the mobo. For the sake of the thread assume price is not an issue.

AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
ASRock 970 EXTREME4 ATX AM3+ Motherboard
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X 3GB Video Card
NZXT Phantom 530 White ATX Full Tower Case
OCZ ZT 550W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Thank you,
TBV.

Solution
fx 8350 is not listed as supported neither by 970 Extreme3 nor by 970 Etreme 4 . if you re getting FX 8350 , buy a motherboard with 990 chipset -it is 10% faster . Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0. is fine .

Thank you for the quick reply, could you explain how a 990 chipset is 10% faster?

the speed between chipset 990 and cpu is 5.2GT/s but between chipset 970 and cpu is 4.8GT/s .they are called north bridge .
