Can I connect sata2 hdd on sata 3 port on mobo

Don't get me wrong , I know that all SATA cables are same , I just want to know is there going to be any damage to the HDD or MOBO if I connect a SATA2 HDD to a SATA3 port on a MOBO , 'couse I think the MOBO I want to buy hasn't got any SATA2 ports.

Yep, SATA is completely backwards compatible.
