I inadvertently used a Xeon processor on an unsupported Asus motherboard. Now when I replaced it with an appropriate i3 processor I keep getting a message to press F1 to reset bios but I don't see where there is anything to reset. Set to default does nothing. Removing battery, and replacing battery does nothing. Clearing RTC with jumper does nothing. Oddly, when I attempt to set the date in bios, as soon as I click on the time field to set it, the date immediately reverts back to default year of 2009. Did I damage my motherboard? Also, randomly when restarting, I get error to "insert boot media and press a key" . I have not yet installed an operating system, and the DVD drive is recognized and set as the boot device. Thanks!!

I am trying to figure out if I should get a compatible motherboard for the Xeon if its not possible it could have been damaged, but also wondering if my Corsair Vengeance memory is compatible with a Xeon E3 2300 V2. But also would like to figure out how to get that Asus P8B75-M motherboard working again. thanks
