Installed New Radeon - Can't display Native Resolution

Hi guys, I have just installed a radeon 6670, drivers installed no problems. However when I change my resolution to 1680x1050 (monitors native resolution) my screen goes black saying no signal and I am reverted to the old resolution which is poor and pixelated.
I am connecting via hdmi

any ideas?

it says the best drivers are already installed
I am getting perfect resolution via RGB, really bugging me with the HDMI tho
could it be to do with me only having 32bit windows?
