More about gigabyte ga78lmt mobo compatible intel core 3770 quad core processor
  1. No it's not, that mobo has an AM3+ socket while the i7 requires an 1155 socket. Sorry :/
  2. If you want to upgrade, that motherboard is compatible with the AMD FX series.. I would recommend the 6300 or the 8350

Do you know of any cheap motherboards that support the Intel Core i7-3770 Quad-Core Processor for under 100$ ?

If you're not sure, this motherboard has the same size factor as your current motherboard :

  8. just make sure you buy a motherboard with one of these chipsets - Z77, Z75, H77, Q77, Q75, B75 and Make sure it's an LGA 1155 board.

Most boards will do just fine, most expensive boards are only really needed if you want to push an overclock to its limits or you want a board that looks amazing. Some of the chipsets don't support overclocking though... but the Z77 is the one to go with if you plan on overclocking and even then you need to have a K Series (i7-3770k) if you want to have a decent Overclock.
