What's the weakest PC build that would beat a PS4/Xbox1 in terms of performance? Mobo/Memory/CPU/GPU?

More about : minimum build match beat ps4 xbox1

ps4 /xbox1 is kinda
8 cores clocked at 1.6GHz
Radeon HD 7790
8 GB RAM , ps4 may have 4
So ,if you have 4 core processor, like i5, clocked at 3.2GHz is enough - i.e. 4 cores but robust ..

the following rigs will outperform both ps4 and xbox1 .
.
cpu Intel i5 4570/4670
mobo ASRock H87 Pro4
or

cpu AMD FX 6300 / 8320 / 8350
mobo Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0

gpu R 279(X) , GTX 760 like
MSI R9 270 Twin Frozr or MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozr/Asus GTX 760

memory 2x4GB DDR 3 1600MHz 1.5V 240 ,pin like
Corsair Vengeance

Well that'sthat's about the hardware of a console but he wants to match the performance which will take a little more GPU. A 6300 would be a good CPU that is half the price of an i5 and the GPU would need to be 7850\650ti boost or better.
What all do you want the PC to do? If just gaming do u want to play online or just offline?

Thanks guys for the replies. I don't do console gaming, but I know the PS3 has been out something like 7 years and will probably be around at least another year. With the new PS4s and Xbox1s I figure maybe they'll get another 7 years. Seems to me that consoles control the market. Game designers aren't going to spend a lot of time and money building a game only a high end PC can run. Sooo... I figure when it comes to building a new PC for gaming, I should start with, at minimum, a PC that can beat a PS4/Xbox1. Not just in technical hardware, but in overall performance. Online gaming isn't my focus, but I might get into it someday. Again, I want it to handle anything the latest generation consoles can handle....

Well, it kinda seems like the PS4/Xbox1 are landing somewhere near the top of Tom's latest midrange buyers guide for GPUs. I like to buy the best bang for buck within a certain price range. Also, I'm not an overclocker and Tom's guide suggests the i5 4760 isn't worth the money if you don't overclock. For the money I want to spend I'd be lucky to just match the PS4/Xbox1. I think I might need to wait a couple months for the prices to come down a bit.

I'm in the phase of building my own...

Intel Core i5 Quad Core Processor
8GB RAM / 1TB MEMORY
Zotac GeForce GTX 970 4GB
+ 620W PSU

Of course, I haven't got it all and may
go for more wattage on the PSU and maybe
even some more RAM but I don't think I'd
need much more than that to beat the current
next-gen consoles, would I? It would make my
day if you said no. lol I'm currently planning on
installing (don't count the stock one that comes
with the case) two cooling fans - one on the side
for intake and one on the top for exhaust.

Personally, my build is meant solely for The Elder
Scrolls: V: Skyrim (or else there's no point in building
it). I thoroughly enjoyed it on Xbox 360 but it was
nothing like when I used to play maybe, 1 or 2 hours
on my sister's pc, so once I build this I will be putting
many, many more hours into that game. This is my
first build though (many of the components were
suggested to me by someone here; I only hope he's
chosen some fine hardware as I'm no technician.) ..

The final cost will be around £850. My hope is that
it'll impress me and that overall, there will be room for
upgrades - (this is me moving from Xbone to the
"Master Race") and for that cost, I'd expect although
again, I'm no technician and pcs are really quite the
mystery. I can't help but stare at a mobo and think
to myself, how in the hell did someone invent one
of those? Was it Nikola Tesla? lol. Now, I must share
my new perspective on custom and pre-built pcs...

Pre-built pcs are mass produced (there's no heart
and soul going into it) and it'll work very much like
a slave- and like all slaves, if they get the opportunity
they'll kill you and make a run for it. Whereas, a custom
build is YOU giving life to a mechanical "being" that will
worship you as its creator and will thus provide you with
the BEST of the BEST quality in all areas- of course
depending very much on what hardware you install... :)

Any suggestions (that are absolutely necessary) to what
I could improve? PSU Wattage / RAM, etcetera or just what
you'd personally add to it, if it were your own build. Oh, &
sorry for reviving this thread, but I didn't feel that it was
necessary to start a whole new one just for this.
