Will GTX 770 work well on this setup?

Hi, my PC is starting to get a little outdated, and I would love some advice on how to tune it up a bit. Been reading around and apparently the graphics card gtx 770 is a great card and not all that expensive either... Will that work on my setup? And if so, do any of you know how much increase I would be looking at?
Sorry that I'm a bit nooby :p

OS: Windows 7 64 bit
System model: MS-7576
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 945 Processor (4CPUs), ~3.0GHz
RAM: 8GB
GPU: GeForce GTX 275

P.S. Since I have GTX 275 (which is THAT bad... just can't handle todays games on high graphics...), is it possible to use this combined with a GTX 770 for an extra power?

he would only need the 4gb version if he goes over 1920x1080p. Back to the subject. Whats your psu? the gtx 770 requires 600w psu with minimum 42amps in the 12v rail. Not sure about your processor either (if it will make a little bottleneck) but im not sure. I would recommend either Evga or asus because they have the best coolers. The evga version can come superclocked aswell

I suggested 4GB for a muti monitor and also for heavy grphics in games. But you are incorrect in suggesting that 4GB is required if you go above 1080p. Any decent 2gb card would be very capable of going to a lot higher resolutions. If you meant in games.. higher resolutions with other aspects of graphics would utilise a lot of memory hence 4GB.

he never said he would go multi monitor. There is currently no game that requires over 2gb of vram for ultra 1920x1080p there proably isnt gonna happend any time soon.

Thanks for the help, but now I'm confused if I should buy 2gb or 4gb xD I do not use two monitors, I have a 1920x1080p screen, my psu is 650w. Not sure about the other two things, amps and rail, not sure how to check that.. Also, any suggestions on new processor? I have pretty lost in that department as of now ;)

It all depends on your requirements for the future. I wanted to future proof my card and 770 being very capable so spending a little extra was OK. But if you would not be playing @Ultra settings for games like Crysis 3 or 4 for future, then 2GB should be enough, else get a 4GB if the price difference isnt much.

you will not and i repeat NOT need 4gb of vram unless you are gonna go 2560x1440p. It will be waste of vram and waste of money if you just run on 1920x1080p. can you like tell me exactly what your psu is called and i will check it out

My suggestion is 4GB and the reason is we are moving towards 4K and NOT sticking @1080p. I have a 29' monitor and it looks gorgeous and once you go ultra-wide you would move to a lot higher resolutions and need 4GB if you plan to game on it. If not save your money and get 2GB.

corsair tx 650w got 54 amps in the 12v rail so its more than enough. It will work just fine.

for gaming/internet browsing i would suggest either a i5 3570k or i5 4670k. 3570k for lga 1155 and 4670k for lga 1150. Lga = your motherboards socket. Both are very very powerful cpu's and if you're not overclocking then get non K version.
