AMD FX-4100 Quad core (AM3+)

2 4gb ram sticks

M68MT-S2

vid card im having problem with: radeon 7850 HD

Power supply unit: 750 watt.

i did have a 480 watt that came with my system, the card says 500 minimum. to be safe i bought 750.

i just put on a 1080p movie and it shut down on me

temp said 31 degrees C 31 C. is that bad? i wouldn't know. thing shut down after 1 minute hardly getting the movie rolling.

As smeeze said, temps are important. Run HW monitor and keep an eye on CPU/GPU temps.

When it shuts down just to be clear its only a black screen right? Not a BSOD or any other weird error?

You do have the cards 2 6pin connectors plugged in, right?

Also is this a new problem? Has it been occurring with onboard or an older video card? The card unfortunately could be defective.
