I'm really struggling to decide which one I should get?

Gtx780 vs 290X

The Radeon of course is a teeny bit pricier. But is it a lot better?

Any thoughts people?
Btw, fyi: I dont overclock or watercool.

My rig:
AMD FX-4350 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
Corsair RM 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (4 x 2GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 SKT-AM3+

Hi, r 290X probably is better then a refference gtx 780, I see many reviews where a r290X beats gtx 780 in many games but when you compare a r290X at 1000MHz vs MSI GTX 780 Lightning at 1020MHz Lightning wins on almost all games.
The MSI GTX 780 Gaming is same o performance but has less OC ability. So if you dont plan to OC go with a gtx 780 from MSI or Evga its better deal then pricier Custom 290X. I bought a GTX 780 Lightning at swithc to custom bios and have 1280MHz and beat any custom 290X.

This is my first build. Everyone seems to recommend the MSI gtx 780, and I can get it for £380 (+3games)
, But seems to be a lot more powerful.

I dont really intent to use Mantle unless it turns out to be stellar. Basically, whats the best value for money.

You're thoughts? Should I stick with the Gtx?

That is a really good deal. If you want to get a card right now, I would say go for it.

If you wanted to wait, I think when the 290X non-reference models come out they will be out perform the 780 in most games.

EDIT: Also, a new range of Nvidia cards are being released soon if I'm not mistaken?

Hmmm. I'm really stumped on this one. I wasn't planning on finishing the build until a few months. Would you say I should wait? Is there a chance the 780 will go down in price considerably as the ti's just come out?

Also I have heating problems in mine right now, so is a 290x not the best of ideas considering I've heard it runs at scorching temp, plus I dont liquid cool.

I dont plan to overclock at all. I just wonderd which was better value right out of the box. Also I've heard is can get really hot, and thats a nono for my rig.

Stick with the gtx780?
