Setting up DOS and program to run a cnc type machine. My problem is I have been installing on a flash based disk-edc 4000 the spinning rust in the computer is failing. the install goes properly but when the machine is booted from flash disk the machine says Disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter.The kicker is if I boot from a DOS boot floppy, I can go to C: and cd into DOS directory and even in root directory, all the files are there. It's like something is not pointing to the boot parts. I reFDISK'd it and recreated the partition and formatted and reinstalled but no joy. Same exact thing. Tried looking at the drive with gparted and it looked ok. Said active and fat 16. but strangely, it would not let me mount the drive. My first time using gparted so maybe that is normal. Any ideas?
