Hi, I am seeking a much needed upgrade from my current Dell Laptop. It runs with 4GB RAM, an intel core i3 2.4ghz processor, and includes an integrated intel 4000HD graphics. As you can tell, this is nothing special at all. I have been recording footage from games consoles in 1080p, using a capture card and other footage, using a Canon DSLR camera, which is also in 1080p. In addition to this, i have also been trying to record commentaries and have experimented recording vocals and my guitar. However, as you can tell from the specs, my laptop doesn't multitask very well and tends to freeze or lock up when i try to do more than one of these things at once. It also struggles to cope with the editing and rendering of the 1080p footage. I am am aware that building a PC is a lot cheaper than buying a pre-built one, and i am fairly confident on the physical side of things. However, I don't have tons of money to spend and am in need of some guidance. I was wondering if somebody could build me some options for a desktop PC or create a price list for me? Maybe one for around £400 and one for around £600? I would need a keyboard and mouse but not a monitor. Ideally, i would like the PC to be able to cope with recording and multi-tasking, but also possibly some light gaming in the future, although i know this may be difficult on a tight budget. I also plan to have 2 or 3 monitors connected if this is possible too. I appreciate your help, all tips and recommendations are welcome, thank you.
