R9 270x low frame problems!

okay, so I upgraded from a gtx 520 to the r9 270x. I though i would be getting more framed than what i am getting. Ex. 30 frames avg in gta 4 in MEDIUM settings. 20 frames in metro last light. there must be something wrong. I already re installed the latest drivers and uninstalled the old nvdia drivers. any ideas?
specs:
AMD FX-6300
R9 270x
8Gb ram
asus M5A97 LE R2.0 mobo
750 watt PS

anti aliasing is a stupid option that blurs the image and people pay hundreds of dollars on gpu's just to set everything on ultra, go high settings and no aa since ultra is just for show off and no real improvement on image and eats away your gpu
