windows 7 program not responding when closed and opened again

hello,

i encountered this problem on my girlfriends new asus laptop, it happens on few applications: when i launch the application, it starts normally, but when she closes it and launchs again few minutes later, the application window opens but hangs and "application not responding" is at the window title and task manager and she is only able to run that program/app when she reboots the laptop...

i tried to google this, but results are containing a lot of stuff with "windows 7" and "not responding" or similar keyword combination :/ im just asking if anyone could point me somewhere or have any tip or hint :)

the program we experienced it on is world of warcraft client and photoshop some older version (6 i believe)

well i already tried to run some antivirus or ccleaner on the machine, but nothing found..

few times when this happend we managed to get the program run by running it "as an administrator", but it dont help anymore (at least in last few tries)

this started happening immediately after the programs were installed, from first run and close..

You have one option for sure, system restrore, however that may not be in your best interest and is somewhat of a hassle, but there are many upsides to it :
-faster computer
-improved computer
-fresh starts are helpful in almost every field
I can guide you through the process of this if you choose this option.

But if you decide to not go that route, you might want to contact WoW support, or you could also try using your computer in safe mode. If it works in safe mode, than there is a higher chance of a virus. You could also uninstall those programs and see if the problem persists. If you find out its a virus, here is a helpful link:

thank you for advices, i would not go that route for now, because the laptop was freshly installed like a month ago, so above all required drivers there are only like 5 programs in total installed, i took care about win 7 to by up to date, so i thought the system is in pretty good shape..

i will try to google this a little bit more, maybe i find something... i just hate win reinstalls :/
