I've been diagnosing my PC for ages, do you lot think that I've finally found the problem?

Hey guys, I've been at my wits end with a problem with my computer. I was experiencing random total crashes of my computer, where the power was still on, but the computer was basically turned off and gone black.

My specs are as follows:

• CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T @2.8Ghz
• Mobo: Asus M4A87TD
• RAM: 8GB DDR3 1333mhz (4x 2GB)
• Hard Drive: 1TB S-ATAII 3.0Gb/s
• I'm also using a USB3 2TB Seagate external HDD to store things, though I've taken to putting games on it too.
• GPU: Gigabyte GTX560 Ti
• Sound Card: Asus Xonar Xense
• Case: Zalman Z7 Plus
• PSU: 700W EZCool Tornado
• CPU Cooling: I bought and installed a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO some time in 2013.

I bought the computer as a custom one from DinoPC and it originally came with a Radeon 6870.

I noticed that the card seemed to be crashing so I hastily bought the GTX560 Ti.

I have run memtest86 as well as stress testing my processor with prime95. Everything I have done to diagnose has turned up with results that suggest that my PC is totally fine.

I decided to Google my PSU and came across a few websites with people discussing how bad it is - this is why I have come to you all with this. I wouldn't want to bother anyone with this when I could just do my own reading but I don't want to sink a lot of money into a solution that won't work.

Can anyone provide any insight? I'm not home at this moment but I can remember some of my temperatures - my CPU runs at about 35C idle and up to 60C-ish when in prime 95. My GPU idles at about 45C and runs around 77C when playing games like Saints Row 4 and Metro Last Light.

Solution
That Ezcool Tornado 700W PSU is a joke.

Just look at its +12V current capacity. For a 700 Watt PSU it should be rated at 58 Amps if it was any good. The Ezcool Tornado 700W is so awful it doesn't even come close.

The 700W rating is most likely a peak power rating and not a continuous power rating.

Thanks guys, it hit me like a bad mystery novel, the thing I never suspected all along turned about to be the worst part.

Can anyone suggest a replacement? I'm looking to upgrade to a GTX770 and maybe someday change the motherboard and CPU. Unfortunately I know nothing of PSU things and voltages or rails etc.

If you are going to be upgrading in the future, something around the 600-700W range (gives you ample headroom) from a decent manufacturer would be fine. Like I mentioned in my last post, stick with companies like Antec, Seasonic, Corsair, etc. and you should be fine. If you want some specific examples let me know.

Edit: +1 Swordkid, that PSU would work great, good price after the rebate too
