Basic Server hosting, i3 4130 Or AMD A8-5600K

Am thinking about build an HTPC which i might use you host a server for me and my friends. Should i go with the AMD quad core or go for the i3 with better single core performance?

FX 4300 is probably a good idea since i have a spare ASUS M5A97 R2 laying around. I was just trying to avoid buying a dedicated GPU which am not gonna use.
