4670k vs 4770k for gaming

I plan on getting an ASUS Maximus Formula, along with 8gb if 2133mhz RAM. I already have two MSI R9 270x's for crossfire, my question is, should I get the 4670k or 4770k for gaming? Will hyperthreading support come soon enough to make it worth it? I plan on overclocking and getting a Corsair h100i or Kraken x60 for cooling.

EDIT: I play BF4 primarily. Ive heard it benefits from Hyperthreading

The adoption rate of hyper threading is very slow by the time everything uses it you will be buying a new computer save yourself the $100. my 2 cent oh and if you havent got the RAm yet mhz does not mean much in real world you can save yourself some money and just get 1600 you performance will dip .001% its been proven in numerous articles i would look at the latency more than mhz.

Strictly gaming and with 2 GPUs...still get a 4670k. If you had 3 GPUs then I'd advise the 4770k. As mentioned save the $100.

You can get some 1866 RAM instead of 2133. I'd grab it. For Sandy Bridge 1600 was the sweet spot. For Haswell, 1866 is.

It really depends on your budget. If getting the i5 instead of the i7 means getting a better different part, then get the i5, but if it doesn't effect the rest of the build, and you can afford to drop the extra $100 on the i7, then get it. The i7 is better overall by a good margin in everything but gaming, and it IS better in gaming... just not by a whole lot. The i7 has more L3 cache which will come in handy, and it's likely to overclock better.

I agree that most of the time, the 4670k is plenty good enough, but for those who can afford the 4770k should get it.
