HELP PLEASE I DONT KNOW ALOT ABPUT RAM I NEED HELP WHY ARE THEIR DIFFERENT COLORS WHAT CAN IGET RAM FOR MY NEW MOBO PLEASE HELP.

RAM is Random Access Memory, It is used by browsers, games, and almost every application on the computer. When your computer is shut-down, all the data on the RAM is deleted, making it convenient for holding files you do not need permanently. You can buy RAM off many websites, for example, Newegg, Amazon, TigerDirect, and many more. Choosing the right amount of RAM is based on what applications you plan on running, and I suggest you look at the solution I added. I currently have 16GB of RAM, but you can do fine with just 8GB or even 6GB. I would not recommend getting lower than 4GB.

No. I cant afford that i am on a tight budget with this build. I already have 2 3g sticks so i have 6g in total but when i build it does it matter what color ram slot i put it in. Also i only want 2 or 4 more gigs of ram because im on a tight budget because i al ready have 6g

maybe 3 2GB sticks? and want to add 2GB more? if so look to get the same model you have or a stick with the same specs, there's no guarantee when mixing sticks that they will play together

Is this a desktop or laptop? I don't know of any 3GB sticks, many laptops have a stick soldered in and then 2 or more slots for additional DRAM, guessing laptop
