I did a performance benchmark on my 840 EVO and my read speeds are kinda low.

Why are they so low? RAPID is on, AHCI mode is on, and i'm using maximum performance on OS Optimization.

-Windows 8.1
-Samsung Magician 4.3
-Latest 840 EVO Firmware
-Mainboard: MSI 970a-G46
-CPU: AMD FX-8350 @ 4.3 GHz
-Seagate Barricuda 1 TB

Solution
Even though all of your ports are SATA 6Gb/s, connect your drive to another port and retest.
Connect the drive to port SATA1 if it is not there already.

Are you sure that you have the drive plugged into a SATA3 port on the motherboard? You're write speeds will be artificially high because of RAPID even if you were accidentally plugged in to a SATA2 port.

Just opened Samsung Magician - It looks like it will tell you on the Disk Drive option if it wasn't connect to SATA 3.

Sorry, my girlfriend wanted me to go to bed already.
Alright, I moved the drive from SATA 5 to SATA 1.
This is before

and this is after

I think that did the trick! but is the random read supposed to be that low?

Edit: When I open google chrome, the read speeds drop significantly. This is normal right?

Sweet thank you. How do I know that my computer will do the TRIM command and garbage collection?

Edit: Could I message you and pick your answer as the solution?
