Hi all. I recently upgraded my GPU card to an Nvidia GTX 780 non-ti and my CPU currently is an i7 920 overclocked to 3.8 being powered by a Corsair 1000W PSU. Now, watching youtube videos of people who own this card play games like Crysis 3 and Battlefield 4 on MAX settings with a resolution of 1920x1080 looks amazing because the GTX 780s runs the latest titles really well. In my case, I get HUGE fps drops even with no AA enabled with everything else maxed. Im starting to wonder if this is my CPU's doing. Ive noticed that my CPU usage is in the high 90s when playing these graphic intensive titles if that helps with clarification. Obviously some time has gone by and the i7 920 has been stone aged and I already suspect its time for a CPU upgrade. If so, ive been considering the Haswell i5 processor as i dont really do much editing, mostly gaming. Any takes?

Thanks!

If it where my guess I would say your I 7 is starting to show its age what are the other folks running intel wise when you see youtube vids??? I would suggest a 4670 and a new board.

I figured that was the case. Today my computer continuously crashed playing battlefield 4, and has now become unplayable on my system with recommended settings. Processors being used by those individuals were i5/i7 by either Ivey Bridge or Haswell. My mother board temps are also retarded, as they display 85 degrees when playing intensive games.

Check your CPU usage while you are running games, if it's maxed, then upgrade time is here.
