I was in the middle of a game and my computer just shut off and the way I got it back on was unpluging the power cord from power supply, then plugged it back in and it works now

What caused this to happen? It has never happened to me before...

It sounds like it may have overheated. If so, unplugging/replugging the power wasn't what got it back on but simply the passage of some time, i.e. enough time to pass for it to cool enough to allow you to turn it back on.

I used to experience this problem a lot with my laptop. If you do have a laptop, a cooling pad for your laptop to sit on is an inexpensive way to get around the problem. You could also try turning down your graphics settings just so the comp does not have to work as hard and therefore not heat up as much. Finally, when was the last time you cleaned the insides of the computer? Using one of those dustblowers goes a long way in allowing your computer's fans to work more effectively.

Its clean and I watch my temps, I also have a case with 4 fans.... so it has much ventilation. Maybe I should just wait to see if it happens again, if so, then just buy a new cpu fan.

if it's ONLY during gaming then it may be a bad motherboard. You should look into reviews for your motherboard and you may see why your computer is shutting down. This may or may not be the case.

Im going to say its faulty power supply reason I say this when you put it under a heavy load with that game it fails but I could be wrong could be bad ram bad gpu bad motherboard but its a TD brand power supply then I say try a different one.

BTW WHAT GAME IS IT?
