Best CPU For Gaming And Editing/Recording Videos

Last response: in CPUs

I am currently collecting money to build a pc and once it is done, I intend to be recording and uploading videos to youtube (as well as do some heavy gaming). As such, I was wondering which CPU was best for this (I heard this is one of the few scenarios where I should get an fx 8350 over an i5/i7 due to extra cores but I want a second opinion). Also, since I will be doing some video editing, would it be worth getting a decent sound card too?

As a side note, I play lots of different games, and some of the older ones will inevitably benefit from an i5 over an fx. If I did get an fx, what sort of fps differences would I get (eg games such as total war series, dawn of war series, mount and blade series, basically anything that has a low thread count).

My budget is ~£200 so I can get something like an i7 4770k if you really think it's worth it. I can also stretch this budget if it is worth it.

Sorry for longish post :p

I would get an 8350, or an 8320 if you're overclocking. The extra cores on the 83x0s will give you about equal performance to a 3770k while streaming /recording/editing.

Ok, thanks. Just wanted to make sure I made the right decision.
