hey, just a quick question. im working on a micro ATX build and im wondering if an ATX sized power supply would fit/work on a micro ATX... im guessing not because why else would there be different sizes, but just a quick question and will smaller sized power supplies fit perfectly into bigger cases (ATX) or will only 2 screws fit in etc

An ATX PSU will fit in any ATX standard case, very few cases use PSU form factors other than ATX.

It only matters on the case. If the case is like a form factor then you might run into a problem with the ATX PS. Micro ATX boards don't matter for the PS, only the case.

most micro atx cases take standard atx power supplies.

the only thing you need to worry about sometimes is length of the psu. cases will often state a maximum length if its an issue.

the only cases which do not fit standard sized power supplies are normally the ultra slimline models and most of those have their own power supplies or specify what size power supply to use. they are the exception to the rule.
