Hello everyone! :)

There is this thing driving me insane for the past couple of days.

I just got my first gaming pc. It isn't even actually a gaming pc considering how outdated it is.

I suspect that my power supply unit is creating issues for my games. Please clear this out so I can fix whatever is wrong.

My powersupply is 350W and it's +12V rails are at 10 Amps each. I use a 6 pin converter to connect to the card.

I've read powersupply power doesn't effect gameplay. If it is not enough, it just won't start the pc or card. But my PSU runs the card and my computer. All of it. I just supsect that it doesn't get enough amps.

The box to my 9600 GT says it needs 400W powersupply with 12V rating of 26A.
And SLI recommended settings are 500 or 600 W supply.

PLEASE TELL ME IF UPGRADING MY PSU WILL MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE AT ALL. :(

Here are my specs listed:

Intel Core2Duo E8400 3Ghz
Two, 2GB DDR3 Ram sticks.
Nvidia Geforce 9600GT 512 Mb

Also it's worth mentioning that my PSU isn't branded. and has two fans on it. My Graphics card also has a fan on it.
Other than that I have a Super drive and a 500 GB Sata harddrive attached to my motherboard.

All the test I've ran on cyri- canyourunit.com seem to tell me that I will be able to run a lot of games.
Problem is, I get very VERY low fps and lots of lag.

I can't even run Dota2 even though my rig surpasses the recommended specs for it (Please correct me if I'm wrong)
Other games like COD work fine, not too good either. Varying fps from 80 to 25 or 20 during combat.
I don't understand why this is happening, it is not supposed to in my opinion.

As of now. I'm really sad :(

upgrading your psu will do nothing at all...the problem is your cpu, ram, graphics card...basically your whole computer lol, to get a better gaming experience from modern games, it is recommended to have atleast an i5 or fx6300 cpu, 8 gb of ddr3 ram and a graphics card with 2gb of vram

Guys, I upgraded my PSU to a 550 Watt Supply.
It did solve the problem. I am getting 50-60 FPS now idle. 40-50 In fight. Playing at full specs. Overclocked my GPU a bit. FPS rises to 100 at times. :)
It was the PSU that was the problem.
But thankyou all for your answers and opinions. My rig qualifies for better than recommended specs though. Thanks again!
