Hello I am new to this forum so i will explain the best i can.
Current Specs:-
I5 2500k 3.30Ghz not OC.
6670 1GB DDR3.
Windows 7 Ultimate.
8192 MB RAM.
1 TB Hard Drive.
Motherboard Is a ASUS-p8z77-v lx2.
22" 1920 xx 1080p monitor.
500w ATX PSU ( i think it is a cheap one not sure though)

I have been saving for a new GPU and a Corsair 500R MID Tower what i would like to know is if the tower i have chosen will be able to house the GPUs size of the one's i list below and will it keep the card cool enough so it does not kill my computer, as you can see i am new to this game and would love to read some great solid feedback.

New thing's i would like to add to improve system and hope they all work together.

Looking to spend £200-£300 on GPU.

Sapphire R9 280X Toxic.
Nvidia GeForce GTX 770.
Any more suggestions for possible "future" proof cards not on list i would love. Date is now 1/6/2014 I am looking to buy card around 3/1/2014/ - 5/1/2014.

Psu.
Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze Power Supply Unit ( if better one please tell me thank you)

Tower.
Carbide SeriesR 500R Mid-Tower Case I am not sure if this is big enough case for a big graphics card or good enough to cool such cards.

Solution
I'm quite certain the cards will fit in that case. The gpus are both good(comes down to AMD vs nvidia) but try looking for an XFX 650W - great psu made by Seasonic.

Thank you for your reply's I am going to go with the Corsair Case, the XfX 650W as my friend also has one and he said it is just fine, although i would like a bigger one they are just getting so expensive as i go up the tech tree, and i just looked at the R9 290 plus BF 4 and i got to say now that i know i can fit them in the Tower it is going to be one hell of a tug of war for me.

Well if you said your buying between 3/1/2014 and 5/1/2014 why not just save up money till that date comes. You'll have more options and so forth.

focusing on your question, if your gonna do 1080p gaming then I'd suggest the GTX 770 since it performs a tad bit better than the 280X at that resolution and is cheaper than the 280x IF you country was affected by the bit coin miners who made the price of a 280X rise 25%.
a quality 600W PSU is require for both of these cards and like Bruce said the XFX 650W PSU will do just great. I belive any non-reference gtx 770 will fit fine in the 500R probably except for the gigabyte windforce 3x or any triple fan setup cooler, those you should have the dimensions measured and stuff just to make sure.
