Hi. I recently got a new monitor which is a lower resolution than my old monitor. Anyway when I switched them out I didn't bother restarting my computer and it let me set the resolution to anything I wanted all the way to 1080p HD and it scaled very well, and it necessary for how big my screen is

But recently I had to restart my computer and now Im locked to 720p, on the resolution slider theres no longer an option for 1080p. How can I change this? Clearly its capable of supporting it because it worked fine for quite a while. I know I can get my old monitor and change it that way but having to do that everytime I restart my PC even if it isn't very often is quite annoying. Any help would be apperciated

What is the max resolution of your new monitor? What was the resolution of your old monitor? If your new monitor is only 720p and you switched the monitors out when the PC was running I would say that Windows was simply not showing the correct information and corrected it when you did a reboot/shutdown. A monitor that is only 720p is not going to run at 1080p period despite what Windows may have been showing at the time. What is the make/model of your new display?
