Hey everyone. I'm using a Silverstone SG05 Case and a full size PSU. This gives me very little space for a cpu cooler (about 64mm.)
The Scythe Big Shuriken 2 looks very appealing, however because the bottom (flat metal) of the psu is directly above the motherboard, it will leave only a tiny bit of space for the fan to draw air in (the cooler is 58mm tall)
I've looked at other coolers including the NH-L9i but the thermal performance, while better than stock, isn't very promising for overclocking (only looking to get about 4Ghz out of my 4670k.) Though on the other hand, the L9i will have plenty of room to breathe, standing at only 37mm.
Would the BS2 still perform generously better than the L9i even with the air restrictions?
My build:
i5 4670k
Gigabyte Z87N-Wifi
16GB SP DDR3-1600 Memory
Samsung 840 EVO 120gb SSD
Seagate 500gb HDD
Silverstone SG05-Lite (white)
Corsair TX650
Gigabyte 6850(soon to be a GTX 780)
Will be posting a build log soon as this was an interesting and very challenging build, and the cooler is equally a challenging decision!
Thanks for the help.
