Hi guys
I have just found my external SoundBlaster Audigy SE in my loft, I got rid of my desktop PC in favour of a laptop quite a while ago. The external Audigy had a great interface with midi, firewire, multiple line in/out etc.. however obviously it used an internal card as well. I was wondering if there was a way to use the external “box” with a laptop? I don’t know what kind of interface the external box used but is there a similar interface for USB or firewire I can use on my laptop? My kid is into music in a big way and he is desperate to get his hands on the old Audigy (24 bit and all that)

If memory serves was that not connected to the PC though a PCI Card? From what I can remember there would be no way to connect that to a laptop at all. The actual sound card was on a PCI card and had a cable that connected to the break out box.

You can see the connector between the Firewire ports and the Digital out Ports that connected it to the internal card.

Thank you, I guessed that would be the answer, I was hoping that there would be some sort of common interface, or an adapter that would allow the breakout box to work from USB or another IO
