hi community, i have a question:
i currently have an Asrock H77 board in ATX form and would like to switch to an Asrock H77 board in mATX or mITX form-will i have to re-install Windows 7? all other hardware will stay the same, i'm only changing the board to accomadate another case.
thanks!!!

That is not always true but the fact that you are still using the same chipset may allow it to work. In general Windows does NOT like motherboard transplants and will not work/work correctly. The only thing I can say it to give it a try and see what happens the worst case would be haing to format and re-install in the end. But with the same chip set going from a H77 to a H77 you might luck out.

How ever if you are using a OEM version of Windows 7 it might see that as enough of a change to kill the activation of Windows.

Make a backup of yoru data, then just pop the disk in the new setup, 9 times out of ten Win 7 will see the new hardware and load appropriate drivers from it's cache and you'll be running, then update the new mobo drivers from their web site, run a good registry cleaner (Wise has a free version) and should be good, will then prob need to re-authenticate Win which is no big deal ;)
