I have a Gigabyte Z8x7-UD4H Motherboard and currently run 8GB 1600mhz ram from a brand that I'm not even sure of. I was wondering if I should upgrade my RAM or if it even makes a difference. I've heard that more mhz makes a big difference in how fast programs open and load (Like if they were on an SSD) What would work for my motherboard, or should I not even waste my money?

Thanks for the help

Don't waste your money. Memory speed makes a very small performance difference in real world applications, it mostly shows up in synthetic benchmarks. The choice to upgrade is yours however the upgrade I would make would be to more ram (ie16gb) not faster (2400mhz). The choice is dependant what you do on your pc however for real world you will not notice the difference in upgrading to faster RAM.
