there both pretty flawed as games.
they are from different genres so its totally subjective.
assassins creed iv is basically a sandbox rpg with platformer elements.
while DMC is a linear platformer.
i enjoyed both at the time. and have replayed dmc since. it will be a while before i go back to black flag, but i will go back.
so for me there as good as each other in there own ways.
(hows that for sitting on the fence
