Hellow everybody happy new year, i need to change my cpu but i want to buy a cpu for long term 10 years espacially for gaming, so is an i5 will be good or it must be i7,and If i5 will be excellent for high-end future games... and thanx a lot

Solution
Eventually the I7 will be better currently it is not in most but lets presume that in the future we will get games that will benefit from the 8 thread capability of the I7. The longer you keep it the more chance is that will be the case.

I'm certain you can't find any piece of hardware that's 10 years future proof, nor I'd recommend any real expensive CPU. I think 4670k is one of the best to recommend nowadays. Architecture changes, so will the hardware. Let's just suppose you'd go for one of the bests in the market:

http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-4960X-Extreme-Processors-BX80633I74960X/dp/B00EMHM6JK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1389020660&sr=8-1&keywords=i7+4990x

you'd end up paying 4 times the price of another good one,

http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i5-4670-Quad-Core-Processor-BX80646I54670/dp/B00CO8TBR4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1389020735&sr=8-2&keywords=i5+4670k

So, why not just save the extra money and upgrade every 3 years. (Motherboard would need an upgrade too due to it's socket)
