My system stock runs perfectly. But whenever I overclock the cpu even the slightest, causes in-game crash from 0m to 1h time. I tired up to 4.4ghz at 1.35v and auto as well. Intelburn/Prime95+Furmark/Heaven at the same time +8h. Everything OK with stability stress tests.

First catalyst version installed, 13.12 live. Gpu scaling is rock solid, too awesome actually, most of the time +90% T_t.

In-game crashes are 95% "game stopped working" type, but I do get occasionally complete freeze, driver stopped working and "there is no AMD card installed"(or something like that, only once this last one).

Though, 4.4ghz oc with XMP enabled and a single r9 270x, doesn't crash.

Using noctua nh D-14 for CPU cooling.

Temps in full load:

PHC/Mosf 55c/63c
CPU 67c
GPU 73c
Mobo 35c

Keep in mind, those temps, are under full stress testing with Prime95+Furmark etc at the same time. In gaming temps don't even! I have a pretty nice air cooling system going on.

Things I tried:

-ULPS disabled
-max voltage 1.35 at lower clocks
-auto voltage
-no XMP
-Drive fusion premium ATI drivers cleanup, installing earlier catalyst etc... several times.(I did not attempt manual registry cleanup, but drivers shouldn't be it, as this system is completely new, fresh hard-drive and OS [right?])
-Tested with 4 games so far

System specs:
-Mobo= GA-Z77X-UD3H (rev 1.2)
-CPU= i5 3570k
-GPU1= r9 270x Sapphire vapor X OC dp with boost
-GPU2= r9 270x Sapphire vapor X OC dp with boost
-PSU= Corsair TX 750
-RAM= G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 4GB 4x2GB CL7

Overclocking the CPU gives me quite a lot of plus FPS in games, so this is a deal braker for me (and I obviously bought it for overclocking)

Any help is much appreciated, I'm about put my head through a wall, what am I missing? What else can I try?

Doesn't crash at all? Fully stable in that config? Have you run Prime95 BY ITSELF, and FurMark BY ITSELF?

So CPU at stock with CrossFire enabled works fine also, totally stable? What happens if you just bump up only one multiplier instead of going up to 44?

It almost sounds like a power problem, but I would expect that PSU to be able to handle it. Is it a new PSU or a carry-over? Are you using the included PCIe power cables or using some kind of molex adapter?

Thanks for the replies guys.
So, my mobo is 1.2 rev, meaning it has the lastest Bios on it, there is no older bios for it, it does have a beta bios, however, it looks to be only for windows 8 support.

Yes, I did both Prime95 alone, for 15h, and furmark/heaven and 3dmark 11 stress alone too. No issues. I tried single card, and with both cards installed with crossfire disabled. Overclock 4.4ghz is completely fine both ways, no crashes. I did try with 4ghz and it crashed too with crossfire enabled.

PSU brand new, using its own power cables, 2x 6pin. But since it loads Prime95 along with Furmark I actually ruled the supply out, could it still be an issue?

Also - as Rolli asked above - Have you tried each card by itself to make sure they are both stable cards? I know they work in CrossFire, but might as well make sure. Also - have you tried using a single card in the secondary PCIe x16 slot all by itself - leaving the primary slot unoccupied? I dunno...
